The homeowners had a simple wish for their existing 920 sf 2bed/2bath home - create a master suite addition. Given carte blanche, a creative addition coined “peekaboo” developed through a series of 10 meticulously placed punched through windows that not only provides a sense of privacy in the office hallways leading into the master, but a fun source of defused light that shifts throughout the day.
A vaulted hemlock ceiling brings a sense of grandeur to the master that is complemented by a floor the ceiling cement tile electric fireplace that heats up to 400 sf. We continued playing with the visual space by extending your eye up by incorporating full height recessed track pocket doors and a floor to ceiling wall to wall closet.
The hemlock ceiling continues into the master bath where a large skylight washes in more natural light. A his and hers floating vanity pairs with a stand alone custom make-up vanity. The large walk-in shower features a recessed rain shower, bench, and a playful cement tile the lines the feature wall.
